Advertising supports the running costs of Ruby-Doc.org, but it must remain separate from our editorial judgement.
This policy covers advertising, sponsorship, affiliate relationships, supplied products or services, and other commercial arrangements affecting Ruby-Doc Learn.
Editorial Independence
Neither advertisers nor sponsors have the ability to influence what we cover (topic) how we conclude things (conclusion), our technical recommendations (recommendation) or our corrections (correction).
Payment does not guarantee coverage or favourable treatment. Advertisers and sponsors cannot insist that we remove legitimate criticism or make unsupported claims.
Paid Guest Articles & Link Insertion
Ruby-Doc Learn does not accept paid guest articles or payment to insert links into existing editorial content.
We do not sell links intended to pass ranking credit or add commercial links simply because someone has requested particular anchor text.
All editorial links are included so that users can see what reference was used to back up an assertion and/or provide additional context or resources related to the subject matter covered.
Advertising
Adverts may be displayed around editorial pages and adverts must be visually distinct from the editorial content and must not be misleading to readers into thinking it is editorial content. The display of an advert is not an endorsement by Ruby-Doc.org.
Sponsored Material
Should Ruby-Doc.org publish sponsored material in the future, it will disclose clearly and prominently that the material was commercially funded.
Sponsored material is expected to meet the same standards as editorial material including; fall within our defined editorial scope, provide value to Ruby developers, meet our accuracy and authorship requirements, be reviewed and edited by staff, identify the commercial relationship and use correct link attributes.
A sponsor will not be presented as an independent source when it has paid for or influenced the material.
Affiliate Links
Any affiliate link referenced in an article MUST be clearly identified and authors are expected to recommend solutions based on their honest opinion rather than potential earnings.
An affiliate relationship does NOT give merchants the authority to direct the conclusion(s) reached or approve editorial copy.
Link Attributes
Links resulting from payment, sponsorship or advertising will be marked with rel=”sponsored” or, where appropriate, rel=”nofollow”. User-submitted links may be marked with rel=”ugc” and moderated for spam.
Unacceptable Advertising
We reserve the right to reject advertising or sponsorship that is deceptive, unsafe, unlawful, unrelated to our audience or inconsistent with the purpose of Ruby-Doc.org.
