About Ruby-Doc Learn

Ruby-Doc Learn is the instructional and editorial area of Ruby-Doc.org. In this area, we will provide practical learning materials for Ruby and associated technologies including troubleshooting resources and informative comparative analyses for users of these technologies.

What We Are Trying To Accomplish

We want to support Ruby and associated technology users in understanding not only how things function but why there may be choices regarding specific approaches. There are many topics covered at Ruby-Doc Learn such as Ruby, Ruby on Rails, testing, deployment, APIs, databases, developer tooling etc. which pertain to the activities of Ruby programmers.

How We Will Accomplish This

All content appearing on Ruby-Doc Learn must be:

  • Applicable to a well-defined user population.
  • Original and developed for publication on Ruby-Doc.org.
  • Technically correct and based upon credible research.
  • Developed using either practical experience and/or actual testing or analytical evaluation.
  • Clearly identifies who authored the article and who reviewed it.
  • Be revised or corrected when significant data appears to have changed.

When possible, tutorials contain executable examples, expected results, applicable software version(s) and links to the relevant official documentation.

Responsibility for Content Development

The Editorial Team at Ruby-Doc.org retains ultimate responsibility for the accuracy and appropriateness of all content appearing at Ruby-Doc Learn. No contributor, reviewer, nor business relationship with contributors/reviewers shall supersede the obligation of the Editorial Team to serve the best interests of our readers.

Each article must display an accurate byline. When an individual outside the Editorial Team technically reviews a submitted article, their contribution to reviewing may be noted in addition to the author’s name.

We will not create content merely because it is currently “hot” or generates high volumes of searches. The subject matter selected for a submission must truly contribute value to Ruby programmers and be aligned with the stated objectives of Ruby-Doc Learn.

Independence & Transparency

Advertising and sponsorship must remain visibly separate from the editorial process. Payment does not imply any form of endorsement or guaranteed placement of sponsored links into existing articles.
